Round Caye

This stunningly beautiful island is located in a superb natural environment with great fishing, diving, snorkeling, sailing, and sea kayaking. It would make an ideal luxury private or corporate retreat, as well as being a perfect fit for a Sea kayaking, Diving, or Fishing base camp lodge .The waters here have several hues of turquoise and blue ranging in depth from 6 to 90 feet.

The island is roughly in the shape of an arrow head, with the arrows tip pointing almost due north. It is high and dry with hundreds of coconut palms. There are two natural sand beaches one on the west and one on the east. There are several other indigenous trees besides Palms and a small fringe of mangrove trees on the southern 1/3 of the island. There are many types of birds including pelicans, frigate, cormorant, osprey, and even occasional albatross. Also many colorful finches and butterflies migrate across the island. No large animals inhabit any of the islands of Belize. Yet there are many types of crab, lizards, and even Black Iguanas. The bulk of the island is full sand and low brush between the swaying palms.

Round Caye is located 16 miles north east of Placencia, the hottest tourist destination in southern Belize. From Placencia there are almost 100 different eco-day trips available! Including river, cave, jungle and Mayan Ruin exploration. Not to mention horseback riding, waterfalls, zip-line jungle canopy trips and more! The Placencia Peninsula is the nearest embarkation point on the mainland of Belize- only a short boat ride away, ranging from 20 to 45 minutes, depending on weather conditions. You can arrive at the Placencia Airport via Belize City International Airport in only 35 minutes. From there you can be on your very own island in less than an hour! The nearest island to Round Caye is over a mile away and the next is over 5 miles away! The area is clustered with several other islands which gives Round Caye great protection from weather, but still remains very private.

The Belize Great Barrier Reef (second in size only to Australia’s) is only 3 ½ miles away, allowing for both complete privacy and easy access to some of the worlds finest sailing, diving, kayaking, fishing and snorkeling experiences. Round caye has no other islands between it and the Belize Great Barrier Reef, giving it a spectacular unobstructed view east towards the Reef and stunning sunrises. Views towards the west give great sunsets flowing straight into the Caribbean Sea. Towards the northwest you can see the first peaks of the mysterious Mayan Mountains almost 30 miles away!
