El Chiclero Inn is located in Burrell Boom Village on the mainland of Belize 15 miles from the Belize International Airport. The inn is centrally located to the local tourist attractions of the Baboon Sanctuary, Mayan Ruins and the jungles of the western portion of Belize. Only a short flight away are the scuba diving paradises of Caye Caulker, Ambergris Caye and the Blue Hole.

The building architecture with its wrap around veranda and graceful arches is tropical Spanish style. The exterior finishes are smooth painted concrete with rock and wrought iron accents.

At the front of the building there is a 1,085 SF Porte-cochère for cars to park under. There is a concrete and tile fence along three sides of the property that secures the building and enclosed yard. The enclosed yard contains a 3 bay carport, utility room and laundry area.

Inside the enclosed yard is a separately fenced 19’ by 32’ tiled swimming pool, a snack shop and pool house containing restrooms and a shower. There is a concrete deck and lush vegetation surrounding the pool area.

The bar is key hole shaped of exotic local wood paneling. Custom wrought iron light fixtures, tables and chairs grace the dining rooms.

The second floor consists of six large hotel rooms with private baths and two two-bedroom one bath self-contained apartments. The rooms contain a separate tiled vanity. The bathrooms contain tiled walls, tiled walk-in showers and low flow toilets and hot water. The apartments contain a kitchenette. Each room is furnished with two queen size beds, locally made table and chairs and a TV.

All the floors on the second floor are tile including the wrap around veranda. The walls and ceilings are painted smooth concrete.

Building Specifications:

The concrete block and reinforced poured concrete building was designed for 200 mph hurricane force winds and minor earthquakes. The building has already been tested by sustained hurricanes of 120mph and an earthquake of 5.4 on the Reichter scale. The hotel is used as a hurricane shelter for the locals of Belize.
