Fifty acres of undeveloped land near Mile 4 on the Southern Highway, a mile north of Silk Grass Village. There is approximately 1,557 feet of frontage on the east side of the Southern Highway; this is the property?s western boundary. Measurements of the other three sides are 1,317 feet on the north side, 1,546 feet on the east side, and 1,499 feet on the south side.

Approximately seven acres at the front (west side) of the property was cleared and farmed several years ago. Crops included citrus, cashew trees, peanuts and cassava. The soil throughout the property is suitable for many different agricultural products, even more so toward the back of the property where a small creek runs north-south during the rainy season and the Silk Grass Creek comes within 125 feet of the east boundary.

The secondary growth is largely wamil. The terrain is largely low rolling hills which provides excellent drainage and storm-water runoff.

Silk Grass Farmers? Road #2 (a 40-foot wide government service road) runs along the north boundary of the property and continues east for some distance providing access to other farms and properties between the Southern Highway and the Old England Lagoon which, in turn, empties into the Sea. This property is adjoined on the south by a producing citrus farm and on the north by a 50-acre block of undeveloped and currently leased land that may be available to a motivated buyer. Electricity is readily available as power poles pass by the west side of the property.

This property is four-and-a-half miles south of the junction of the Stann Creek Valley Rd. and the Southern Highway and ten miles from Dangriga, Stann Creek District?s largest community. The Southern Highway is the country?s only north-south highway from Dangriga in the Stann Creek District to Punta Gorda in Toledo District. As connecting roads to Guatemala are built in the years ahead, this roadway will assume even greater importance for both business and tourism.

Dangriga has a population of approximately 10,000 persons and features good beaches and fine swimming areas as well as ready access to the cayes and the barrier reef with excellent fishing, snorkeling and scuba diving opportunities. The local airport provides frequent flights to Belize City as well as other locations throughout the country. By road the property is approximately 55 miles from Belmopan City, Belize?s capital, and 105 miles from Belize City.

Stann Creek District is home to Belize?s citrus industry and also includes banana plantations and a variety of traditional tree and row farming. It is home to the Cockscomb Wildlife Sanctuary?the western hemisphere?s only jaguar reserve, and a number of ecotourism attractions including waterfalls, caves and freshwater swimming areas.
